Between work, family, and weekend plans, deep cleaning a whole house can feel impossible. The good news is that a real deep clean isn't about scrubbing everything every day — it's about hitting the right surfaces in the right order. Here's the checklist our team follows in homes across Las Vegas, Henderson, Summerlin, and the rest of the valley.
Start in the kitchen, and always work top to bottom. Clear the counters completely, wipe down the small appliances (the toaster crumb tray is the one everybody forgets), degrease the stovetop and range hood, then scrub the sink and faucet. Finish with the inside of the microwave and the rubber seal around the refrigerator door — those two spots hold more grime than anything else in the room.
Bathrooms come next, and in Las Vegas they need a different approach than most places. Our water is hard, so the film on glass and fixtures is mineral scale, not soap scum — scrubbing harder does nothing. Use a descaling product, pre-treat the grout and shower glass, and let it sit while you work elsewhere. That dwell time is what actually does the work.
Bedrooms and living areas are mostly about dust and high-touch surfaces. Strip the beds, vacuum the mattresses, then dust ceiling fans, baseboards, light switches, and remotes before you vacuum and mop. Dusting after you vacuum just puts everything back on the floor — order matters more than effort here.
One extra step worth adding in the desert: window tracks and vent registers. Fine dust piles up in both, and every time the AC kicks on it redistributes whatever is sitting in the vents across a room you just finished.
One last tip: work one room to completion before you move on. Bouncing between rooms is the fastest way to lose an afternoon and still have a house that only looks half done.
